The new Shoutbox

I think you mean...poll?........Anyway, I think it is fun and you can instant message those on line which is cool. The quick chat feature is, to me, a welcome addition. However, with that said, I think it does take away a bit from the advertisers, as the shoutbox is the top header and not those who advertise (on my screen, anyway)..perhaps it could be inserted at the bottom of the page, or into the anything goes, chat room?. I don't have any ads, obviously, but I believe it detracts from your main page....Just 2 cents from the old guy............Ortho 8)

I too find it distracting, although I think it is a good idea and have used it on other sites.

Is there any way to have the Shout Box as an menu option? something you have to click on to enter ?

The reason I put up the Poll, (thanks ortho ;) ) is to see how much everyone liked the shoutbox. The reason it is now gone is because it realy slowed down the site!!! Now Im not sure if that one is the right one. :confused:

I never noticed a difference in loading speed. In fact, I didn't even notice the shoutbox was available the first couple of times I logged in.

Wasn't slowing down for me at all. I think it's a great feature. I'd like it back. :beerchug:

Like I said on the shout box..... really think that it should be a seperate room where we could maybe meet up and chat every once in a while. Instead of having it a constant spot on the top of the board.


Think the live talk is a good thing but the shout box was overkill O0

I liked it. But it wouldn't bother me if it was gone. Especially if it speeds up the website. :2cents:

I still think it is a good idea, but it could be placed somewhere else in the site. I felt it detracted from the nice clean title page as well our advertisers. It does give you an instant connection to someone if you see them on line and could actually save a bit of time on line....I did not find with my Shawcable internet anything was slowed at all by having the shoutbox installed...............Ortho 8)

what if it was setup more like MSN where you could click the persons name on here and instant message them. possibly have its own small popup window to chat with.

I liked the shoutfeature. wasnt crazy about the positioning on the website. Speed didnt seem to be effected

Like most have said, it was cool but was bad positioning!! That particular one I wasnt able to figure out how to move its location so I am in search of one that is better that doesn't slow down the forum. ;)

having one with its own seperate POP UP window (when you get messaged or message someone) I think would be perfect for this site. and would make it more personal and we could also have a seperate open forum like the shoutbox was before.

Talk is cheap and its takes money to buy whiskey boys. Do you guys think this $hit is free, I'm sure Rick is doing his best to keep BCFR the premier B.C. fishing website with or without the shoutbox.

Other forums I am on, that have the shoutbox I generally find annoying. I dont use it.
If it was on the portal it would be fine, but on the top of every thread category was a bit much.
