Fishery Notice - Fisheries and Oceans Canada

Subject: FN0597-COMMERCIAL - Salmon: Troll - Area H - Areas 12 & 13 - Fraser River Sockeye - Update

In 2010, Area H Troll Fraser River sockeye harvest opportunities will be
managed as an Individual Transferable Quota fishery and will be based on
available commercial TAC.

Area H Troll remains closed at this time at the recommendation of the Area H
Harvest Committee. The next update regarding potential opportunities will be
Friday, August 6 following the next scheduled meeting of the Fraser River Panel.

The Area H individual transferable quota share is 0.05556% of the available
commercial TAC of 233,861 sockeye. This commercial TAC is for the purpose of
calculating the individual transferable quota of Fraser sockeye for Area B and
H vessels only. At this time, prior to any quota re-allocations, the
individual quota for each Area H vessel is 130 sockeye.

NOTE:
1. Quota will be transferable in whole or in part within Area B as well as
between Area H. Transfers to other gears are not allowed. Quota may be
reallocated as a percent (for the season) or by pieces (temporarily to cover an
overage). In all instances overages accrued in-season must be covered by a
quota reallocation, even if associated with a change in TAC. Reallocations
associated with overages must be made within 24 hrs of landing. In addition,
vessels will not be permitted to continue fishing (start fishing report) until
all overages are covered. Quota reallocation forms are posted on-line at:
http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/ops/fm/.../Default_e.htm under the
heading “Application Forms”. Contact Rhonda Mair at 250-756-3371 for more
information.
