CHILLIWACK/VEDDER RIVER - Water levels have dropped over night and have cleaned up considerably! There is now two to three feet of visibility with the beautiful glacier green color, water is in prime shape! Fly fishing has been good and now that the water levels have dropped and cleared up fishing will be good! Cutthroat are now starting to show themselves in the canal! There are tons of minnow hatching and the the cutts are feeding! Temperature 1 °C Pressure/ Tendency 100.1 kPa↓ Humidity 100 % Dewpoint 1 °C Wind calm Yesterday Max Temp. 6.3 °C Min Temp. 2.0 °C Precip Total 40.0 mm Regional Normals Max Temp. 15 °C Min Temp. 4 °C. Today Sunrise 6:17 Sunset 19:59 Moonrise 22:59 Moonset 6:44. Today's high tide is at 5:30am @ 13.8 ft and low tide is at 12:33am @ 3.3 ft and high tide again at 7:41pm @ 14.1 , remember to add five hours to get the the tide here in the valley. Congratulations to the the three winners of the Wally Hall Jr fishing derby!

FRASER RIVER - The Fraser river over the last week has risen from 3.8 meters to 4.7 meters and has colored up! We still haven't heard if we are going to get an opening for Chinook on May 1st but we will keep you posted. The Sturgeon fishing has been good with success almost assured. Fish in the six to seven foot range have been caught daily by anglers on our fishing charters.

HARRISON RIVER - The Harrison River is now starting to pick up for Cutthroat trout and we have heard good reports from anglers having great success on the river. With the warmer weather, water temperatures will climb and the fry will start hatching in huge numbers, as is has now started. Remember, all wild Cutthroat trout must be released unharmed! There are a few Steelhead passing through the Harrison on the way to their destination river. This would be a very pleasant surprise to hook one of these chrome beauties while fishing cutthroat trout.

CHEHALIS RIVER - Water levels were high and dirty yesterday from all the rain but I would think it would be back in shape today with the low snow levels! Fishing is slow in the new lower sections of the river due to the extreme low water levels in the Harrison and the the Chehalis. With the water being so low don't expect much in the river till we get a bunch of rain to move in some new fish.

THOMPSON RIVER - The Thompson is now closed till June 1, 2006. It was a great year on the Tee, lots of fish caught but haven't heard the final numbers of fish that made it back to spawn, as soon as we find out those number we will let you know.

SKAJIT RIVER - Opens July 1, 2006.

Tight loops, Rick Baerg
