As I have just started to get into fishing in the evergreen state in the last couple of years I thought I would share some excellent resources that I have found with you all. To help you speed up the learning curve. :beerchug:

Another very helpfull website that posts bi-weekly statewide fishing and hunting reports

River levels

Regs and On-Line Licensing

I am really enjoying my explorations south of the border and have found these resources to be invaluable :beerchug:

i have got a copy of the bible. It's a good book and well worth the money if you plan on fishing down there. Have you done the on-line licensing yet? I have only purchased mine from stores so far. Hope you have noticed that the ferry from Keystone to Port Townsend is out for the winter. Makes getting to the Oly Pen kind of suck right now.

Hmmm....I had not hear the news of the ferry that is somthing to consider thanks for the heads up!

I always get my license down there from the corner store as well, I enjoy being able to get beer and a license all in the same place.

Ya, the Hoods Canal bridge rebuild will make the trip a bear. It is set to close down in May of 09 for six weeks. You can get more information at http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/SR104HoodCanalBridgeEast/2009closure.htm Seems to me like the easiest trip would be to take the ferry from T-town over to Van Is then take the ferry from there to Port Angeles. Otherwise its a really long way around. I am going over to fish the Sol Duc in a week or so (waters up, the wild steelies should not be far behind), will let you know what the locals are thinking will be the best way to get to the seattle area. They say six weeks but I would not plan on it being done before the middle of July. Should be in time for the late summer runs.

Orcas Island East

We went to Lawrence Point and trolled two or three passes... and north and to the west we did one troll to get to Lawrence Point from Sandy Point (Ferndale)... While Lawrence Point did not produce anything, we had two freinds onwith boating experience (river) but we had to go through some learning curves...

Next time out it will be toWaldron Island...

What a great day on Saturday, but any day on the water fresh or salt chuck is just fine wih me...:peace:8)
