    Default Hello from Ontario

I have been watching this board for over a year and decided to join to learn more info. My wife and I fish Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay for salmon and trout. Some of your techniques are similar and can be modified to work. Last year we fished in Tofino in March for salmon and had a great time except for the fog. We will be returning this year in March staying in Nanaimo and traveling all over the place, want to book another trip in Tofino, does anybody have any recommendations of a guide, looking for salmon but also bottom fish. Secondly is there a better area of Island to fish for these, please send me a PM with any help. The most amazing post I have ever read is from BigfishMike with his custom lures, it sure sparked some interest in me to recommission some old spoons, a completely unbelievable 161 pages, that takes some time to read. Thankfully spring is here and the fishing season is real close.

    Take Care
    Al

Contact Tofinoguy on this board. March for Salmon is hit and miss, as the migratory fish and bigger numbers don't start until later.

I don't even fish in March anymore....way to hit and miss. The weather can be quite lousy too.

Once we get into May it really picks up.

Some great storm and whale watching though!

Thanks for the replies guys. We are going to visit family so the trip is not based around fishing. Just to get out and have some fun is all I am looking for. Would like to see more this year, the fog last year was unbelievable.

    Thanks
    Al

I was there mid February this year and the weather was gorgeous, warm, blue skies, no fog! Had a great time.

Thanks for all the help guys. The fishing on Friday was awesome, we got our limit even though it wasn't necessary. The food and atmosphere was unbelievable with no fog. My brother in law from California had a blast.

    Thanks again
