Down here in America we get what is called a "tax return". This pleasant chunk of cash the federal government gives back is always an excuse for me to splurge on a piece of tackle I've likely had my eye on for months. Thanks to this forum and others, it was suggested I track down a Kingpin...

Hit the west side of the river on 8:15. I will say not every many people out because it is Tuesday. My fishing buddy showed up about 8:45. I used chum jigs , the jig worked like magic. the second cast I landed the first one this year. It was a nice doe. I could see the float totally been...

Was such a sunny day when I woke up in Kelowna today I had to head out to do some shore fishing! I took the dog with me and arrived at Okanagan Centre around 10AM. Hopped the pesky fence they have put up half way down the pier (the dog just fit underneath the edge). I started out the day float...

I can't wax as poetically as Ribwart, Fishortho and others so foregive me (and my lack of spell check). Out Saturday A.M. the concert beacons (headlamps and flashlights lifted and lighted the trail), marking the meat/honey holes; no fires so I guess the camping was at a minimum. Worked my way...

I was in the Harrison yesterday. Tried trolling spinners and plugs for a while with not much luck. Noticed a bunch of boats right at the mouth. We decided to join this Chum jigging frenzy right at the mouth. At first we sat back on anchor for a bit and watched everyone to see what they were...

Fished from a boat in the lower vedder for something different. Fished jigs with prawn, jigs with roe, jigs, spoons, spinners, roe...nothing but a couple coho chasing spinner close to the boat. But, I did hook into an unexpected snag in an area I had been drifting. My float dipped very slowly...

I headed out for first light this morning. Started down by Keith Wilson. I don't know the river very well, if at all, so my day was pretty experimental. The water was high and fast, in comparison to the one other time I headed out a couple years ago. I had my pin, so it was hard to get my...

Hit the river with the buddy Sun.Started in the lower, saw some coho and some spring-jacks rolling. No action except someone releasing a foul-hook and my float taking a dip with nothing on the hook-set.Moved to the upper and found some action as soon as we arrived.Saw someone land a coho on a...

Question to all of you who fish the middle vedder runs this time of year. I do not have waders, and I usally short float tipped Jigs or blades. The hike in around twin cedars ( which I did once last year )seems to keep the crowds away just enough to enjoy some personal space on the flow. My...

Have had the coho itch for the last week brought on by the bits of rain that fell and the odd report of fish.Went out this morning to check a piece of water that caught my attention on an exploratory trip last weekend.A couple of other fishers were around, seemed pretty quiet.Tossed a colorado...

This quote is from Ribwart in a closed topic. "Here's a tip for those interested in hooking Chum regularly using sporting and effective techniques, fishing ethically and catching more than all those anglers that are...

Well I got to take out the new toys. Motor ran well and boat isn't much different from the Zodiac. Looking forward to finishing break-in period tomorrow,as then I can take it to the ocean for some crab and maybe a little mooching around James Island. Started today fishing northwest side of Elk...

I just wanted to find out what most people are using for Coho fishing from the beach... I mainly throw the iridescent zinger, but I also use blue fox spinners with green bands. Does anyone fish with a float of the beach? If so, whats your setup?
