  1. Freshwater General Discussion
I fished sturgeon slough this afternoon and witnessed several times large schools of small (2-8inches) fish jumping in crazy schools. They were small and silver and were in large schools as the middle of the river (where they were) was bubbling up. Anyone have an idea as to what they were?
  2. Region 2 - Reports
Got the call out at 10:30 AM yesterday that my fishin bud was off work and on route. I figured I'd bring my first ever cured roe to see how it held up. Met him at KWB :oto see what was coming up and there was plenty of fish all through out the lower canal as the water was higher than I would...

I can't wax as poetically as Ribwart, Fishortho and others so foregive me (and my lack of spell check). Out Saturday A.M. the concert beacons (headlamps and flashlights lifted and lighted the trail), marking the meat/honey holes; no fires so I guess the camping was at a minimum. Worked my way...
  4. Region 2 - Reports
I headed out for first light this morning. Started down by Keith Wilson. I don't know the river very well, if at all, so my day was pretty experimental. The water was high and fast, in comparison to the one other time I headed out a couple years ago. I had my pin, so it was hard to get my...

Had an hour to kill Sunday am so took a drive down to Duncar bar to watch all the socs still jumping! Sitting there I noticed a boat slowly coming down river, being pushed by the current.... as the boat got closer, I saw it was a 12-14' tin, motor raised and no one in it! Has anyone heard of a...

Hello All, I just went fishing today on the Fraser River around Sapperton Landing off the shore for a few hours and caught nothing--even though salmon were jumping out of the water all around me. I was casting Gibbs Kit-a-mats, Crocs, and Fox spinners of various sizes, all to naught. Not even...

Arrrggghhh. Just curious if anyone can help me figure out what I was doing wrong. We were out yesterday from 2 until 7 in the pack of boats of the south arm. We watched a crazy amount of fish jumping everywhere. We watch what seemed to be every boat hook up multiple times. I got zilch. Not one...

  9. Vancouver & Sunshine Coast
Was out this afternoon in van harbor, as it was a little too rough for the little woman on the strait.. Caught two 20 pounders around the freighters. The first one was nabbed by a seal, but we got it in. It was a little mangled so we kept that one. It ended up being a white spring. We got into...

Hello Fellow Fishermen/Women, I live in Steveston and see lots of fish jumping in the river but was just wondering how do you fish for them? I have heard that people are going to Shady Island and flossing for them. I was wondering if I had a chance fishing from the **** with lures or with a...

Nicola Valley Outdoors Fishing Report for July 13 2010 Pike Mountain lakes have been steady. The dry fly activity in the evening with caddis dry flies has been good. Tom Thumbs have been good producers as well as Tri-wing sedges. It was a little better before the cold front moved in...

Spent the week end fishing between hole in the wall , howe sound and pt atkinson . Did not have to much luck in howe sound , only released one undersize chinook . There are fish going through the area as last week we landed a nice 16 # er , and I know a big 24 was taken and also a couple coho...

Funny thing happened today while on the flow... about 100 or so feet down the river a steelhead started to jump clear out of the water several times in a circle. Kind of reminded me of the chums in the stave during their run. Now this section of the river is not wide and there's no way I can...
