  3. We all look better in shades

    Contributer Discussions
I can't wax as poetically as Ribwart, Fishortho and others so foregive me (and my lack of spell check). Out Saturday A.M. the concert beacons (headlamps and flashlights lifted and lighted the trail), marking the meat/honey holes; no fires so I guess the camping was at a minimum. Worked my way...
  4. A cautionary tale

    Freshwater General Discussion
Just thought I'd post this as a reminder to all to be careful out there! On Saturday, I decided to visit some familiar spots along the Squamish north of Ashlu. The torrential rains of last week sure brought the river up to incredible heights - the brush along the banks was stained with silt at...
  5. [FISHING REPORT] September 28, 2010 - Vedder River Report

    Region 2 - Reports
Fished the river across from Peach. Lots of Jacks leaping in the (now flooded) pool. Got several strikes on a small blue fly with a gold bead. Fish did not have any love for roe so I didn't use the gear rod as much. River is relatively high and I'd put visibility in the main flow at about...

    Fly Fishing Discussion
What is a good line for deep slow moving water for targeting mostly cohos? I was thinking possibly an intermediate sink line. Is Cortland 444 any good?

    Angling Outside BC
Headed back to Nova Scotia to attend a conference last week, and was able to extend my stay and try a little atlantic salmon fishing up in Cape Breton on the Margaree River. I decided to hire a guide so that I could give myself the best opportunity to take advantage of the two days I had. As it...

    Region 5 - Reports
Fished the Bella Coola River on July 30th. Pinks and Chums were running. The Chinook run was ending. Had 5 hookups. One big one peeled off all of my 20lb test line from my spinning reel and then snapped the line when it reached the end. One salmon and one trout/dolly spit the hook. In the...

  11. [FISHING REPORT] Capilano River- Cable Pool!

    Region 2 - Reports
Sound the gong. Packed all day and all night. Every spot on the river has at least 2 guys at it, and the cable pool is just horrific. Got all levels of experience their. Also, I hate watching guys reef fish up the ledge, they can because the bluebacks are little so their line wont break. Im...
