Was out there on Monday from 10:00 till about 15:00.
10 mins before I got there a pink was hauled in. First cast and I had a strike but no fishy.
Same fellow that caught the first one had another on but didn't make it to the beach.

Every 20 mins or so saw one roll but other than that nada. :'(
5 other beach fishermen and a couple of boats every so often.
Saw a seal out on the river and stayed out front for a few hours, don't think he was doing any better than us.

Good question thatton and good point Bertoli. There's still a lot of pinks to return, especially the later running Harrison ones. 2 Bit is a good choice of bars to fish as you can stand dry on shore and pick them off in a foot of water.

My :2cents:

I just don't understand how they cannot be down there any longer. All the Fraser fish are migratory fish are they not? All the action happens when the fish are pushing through the tides, thus to say that the Pinks are no longer there would essentially mean the run is over. I'm surprised, I thought it would take several million fish alot longer than a couple of weeks to get through.

I live nearby and went down to Duncan this afternoon. I've never seen it so deserted.

FishFreak - there was literally NO ONE across the from the campground.

I sat in the truck for 10 minutes or so and only saw a couple fish and a single seal.

I hope more turn up down here.

I was in the upper end around "The Wack" on Monday and the First Nations were staging for a opening starting Teusday @ noon. They put on quite a production. Large skiffs full of large totes and large nets. They will be thinning the schools out for shure.

I checked 3 places out this week on 3 seperate days on lower Fraser. No. 3 road was dead slow, no risers. Alex Fraser Bridge was slow, got check by DFO for license though. Surrey Dock just a mile from Brownsville was slow. I saw 6 risers, but no one catching anything. I figure there must be some commercial fishing somewhere. The DFO guy said, it's pretty slow now, only a few Pink schools staging outside of Fraser.

Anyone know if these schools of pinks have entered the fraser yet? How is the fishing at 2 bit lately. I haven't been there in a couple of weeks. I am aiming for wednesday morning if there is a chance there is pinks or chum to catch.

Little sign of life, either in river or on her banks.
