Has anyone tried out the record reels? I am thinking about replacing the old C3 but not sure of what's out there now. Daiwa Luna was another model suggested. Looking for the best bang for the buck. TIA!
I have one. I have one word to say: AWESOME! I love it. very smooth, powerful for it's size and fast on the retrieve. I use mine for mainly for float fishing and on the rare times i fish sockeye.
I have one as well. Excellent reel, very smooth, have used mine for tossing spoons, float fishing and on the boat for springs and chum. Well worth the money.
Thanks guys! Could you tell me what size you're running? I was looking at the 61 but also at the 61HC. Not sure if the HC would be too much for rivers like the Ved. I honestly can't remeber the last time I was deep into the spool on my C3. Any advice? Part of me shudders at the thought of getting spooled by a once in a lifetime fish but packing all that extra line?
When I bought mine I also picked up the high capacity spool at Mikes Reel Repairs for about $20 so when I use it in the Fraser its just a quick spool change and you're fishin.
Now thats an informative post! I had no idea it was the same frame! Thanks so much fisherforever! I think that has sold me. Hopefully we can meet out there sometime and your success continues!
