Judging by my screen name, I am new to salmon fishing. I am trying to learn all I can about fishing for Pinks and I am having some luck. After the run of Pinks, what is next and how do I go about catching them? I believe Coho will be able to fish for sometime in the middle of October, correct? What techniques and equipment do I need to catch these or any other upcoming species from shore?

Thanks ahead of time,

Lyle

Coho in the Vedder but you'll have to search for them, I've already released a couple last week. You can also expect chum soon. I normally just fish spoons and spinners for all salmon.

The best thing about living here in the Valley is the fishing never has to end, pinks,chum,springs,coho,steelhead,cutties,springs...etc. through in some sturgeon days, and a little interior lake trout fishing, and you've got one heck of a year

I have 3 boats ... A jet, fly fishing punt and pontoon and all of them have had a dip in one of those rivers at one time or another. Okay, not all rivers, a few but I can say I have had all 3 boats in the Stave.
Tomorrow will be the mouth of the Vedder again. Drew straws and the jet wins!!
