I beleive the lake you are looking at is Pine Lake. The site use to be a juvenile detention camp (Boulder Bay) road access is on the west side of Stave Lake. Last I heard the BC Metis Nation held the lease on the property. The road in from the main road has a gate on it but is usually unlocked. The lake is loaded with small cutties anything over a pound is rare. If you ever wondered where the secret lake that Kevin Logard used for filming his video "How to fly fish lakes" is, you are looking at it. If you want to fish the lake, I suggest you do it soon since I do know the Mission Dist. is trying to the lease back.

I was at the Alouette today and thought I'd check out this spot. Shored up at the beach passing two signs stating "NO TRASPASsING" I thought what the hey there cant possibly be anyone here. So grabed my fishn pole, extra lure, a few worms and a brew and started walkn up the road towards the lake. Passed by another sign that said " TURN BACK NOW bla bla GO BACK TO YOUR BOAT bla bla. So off I go.... I start to see the first huge building and start to get nervous. I slowly walk towards the building when I see a car parked next to another smaller hut. I stop. Oh shoot there someone here. Then I see a big dog mabey a rotty x something and practicly s**t my pants. Right about now im heading back down the road towards my boat hoping that dog didnt see me. I didnt make it to the lake and I dont think anyone is welcome there anyway. Too bad cause that lake looks sooo fishable if you had the chance.

Wasn't always that way, must be the fact that the lease holders are having issues with the Mission Dist. I would try driving in check the gate if it isn't locked close it behind you. Also you might want to contact the camp director Kurtis DeSilva. Last contact numbers I had are [email protected] and Phone 604-977-2572.

At one point Kurtis had plans to open a kids camp and section of a portion for the cabins to for the public ( I was his MC when he held an open house for all the local whos who). He also talked to me about doing some fly fishing schools at the site, but I never found the time to put it together. So try calling him I am sure he would interested in turning a few bucks frrom the camp.
