Hit Alouette again yesterday for a soggy day of fishing. Guess the weathermen have a tough job here on the wet coast as it was supposed to clear up, but it didn't. Not too many kokannee to be had, but we did get a couple for our boat lunch. Caught two nice bulls, one about 3 pounds and one about 6, both at the narrows on flatfish. Lots of fish on the sounder, but they were all pretty deep and didn't seem to be feeding. We caught one monster pike minnow that had a belly like a bass, who was obviously eating well! He definitely had our hopes up when he hit and fought like a big bull, but those hopes fell as his ugly mug broke the water at the boat. The fisheries employee at the ramp said they are still fertilizing the lake and that there weren't too many successful anglers yersterday. Makes you wonder if the program helps the fishing or not. My fishing partners are regulars at the lake and say this is the slowest June they've seen for quite some time. Still, any day of fishing is a good one, and at least we didn't catch a skunk!
