Walked by it today - still open - but I saw a sign it will be closed throughout the extended July 1 long weekend. (Traffic is being banned from the access road during those dates.)

My buddy who lives in west van went to a standing room only meeting concerning the closing of the boat ramp. It turns out that the architect (from Chicago) wanted a fish and chip stand where the boat dock is; this didn't go over well. So the boat dock isn't going to be closed for now; only special events like Canada Day.

anyone know if you can park all day in the tennis courts across from the police station?

I have parked at the fields for a few hours with no problems. I have not stayed all day though. Has anyone else?
