This is an extension of PaulE earlier question, i also need to outfit myself with some anchors for my pontoon boat.

Do you need 2 anchors for a pontoon boat or can you compensate with your flippers. If not where would you situate 2 anchors on a pontoon boat for best results. ???

Thanks in advance.

Hey

I have a 9' pontoon and use a 10lb downrigger ball as my anchor, you could probably get away with a 5lb but that is what I had sitting on the shelf. I know of at least one guy that uses the 5lb folding claw style and seams to like it.

I have only ever used one anchor as I am not quite sure how you would rig up the front anchor, and I have some concern about an anchor rope in front of me when you are trying to fight a fish. You can usually compensate with your fins unless the wind is really swirling badly then it's probably best to call it happy hour anyway :beerchug:
