I'm Ken, a new member from just below the border in the States. I started fishing your spectacular Vedder just last year. I know the Nooksack, Skagit, and Stilly pretty well, usually casting flies, spoons, or roe. I still don't have a lot of experience with floats, so I usually find a more secluded stretch of river and flail away there. I've received friendly advice from the locals on setups and want to thank you for your kindness.
Fishing has always been a part of my family. My great uncle Kenneth McLeod fished the Skykomish in the thirties and created a few steelhead patterns that are still in use today. Lately my 7-yr old granddaughter Kali and I are doing the fishing, and I can think of no better experience shared than the quiet moments on the water.
Hope to see you soon alongside the river!
