I was talking to a couple of guides in different locations down the west coast of the island and they all seem to be "waiting for the big ones to show up". Has anyone pulled a lunker out of quatsino area? Are they not that far down yet?

Fished last Monday, lost three springs (all Mediums) and released about 14 coho and 3 small springs.
Fished it again today, no springs but lots of small coho. Boats are scattered everywhere, looking for springs. A few on the highway, but they are far an in between. Was lumpy today, so did not go outside to the highway. Fished Cliffe Pt. amd the Lighthouse, not much feed around right now.

Phone Dicks or the Outpost and see if you can get a report from them.

Cheers

Three of us are going for hali and salmon, but focussing on the hali. Hopefully the weather cooperates. The plan is for 17,18,19,20 and the forecast looks reasonable. Will keep you posted
thanks,

Just got back from Winter harbour fishing was spotty but there were fish there. On the 7th aug the fish were off lippy point in 2-300 ft of water. sPRINGS DEEPER -COHO MORE INSHORE. cOHO WERE ALSO PRESENT ABOUT 1 MILE OFFSHORE OF THE Lighthouse and off the tip. Lawn point was also producing at 500 ft mark. Hali treated us well but we were north of the RCA around San Jose bay in 245 ft of water. Good fishing to all.
