So, I have been wanting to get out golfing for a while and haven't been able to make it out... Anyone else here like golf?(RIB) Anyone want to have a good laugh at my expense? :-[ ;D The more the merrier. Was hoping for the weekend if I am available. With pretty much all the rivers out, and well, I don't really fish lakes.... What could be better? ;D

I say we schedule the First Annual BCFR Golf Tournament at Sandpiper...some fishing in the morning, followed by tee times in the afternoon...

"Fore please!...Now on the first tee, from Fish Haven, British Columbia..." ;)

...or maybe do one in the interior, catch some 'bows, visit my cousin who's a pro out there...just a thought...whadda you guys think...?

ps: I doubt very much I'm a low capper any more, I'd be quite happy shooting something in the low 80's as I haven't played since around x-mas...as long as I catch a summer run or a spring on the same day that is... ;D

Where you planning on playing? I could use a few pointers from those low 'cappers.........Ortho 8)
I am definately not a low capper. Just like playing, don't know why though cause I suck at it. But there always seems to be that one shot or putt in a round that I can't believe I made that keeps me coming back, or at least wanting to play anyways... ;D ;D

As to where, I have no idea... You have any Ortho? I would golf pretty much anywhere..

I would be up for that as well, but I would at least have to get out there a few times to see if I still have a swing!! ;D

Ahhhh, don't think twice about it Big Steel...no pressure, we'll just get a bunch of us out there and smash the ball around...whether it goes straight or not realy doesn't matter to me anymore...a few years inside the golf business taught me real quick to let that $%$# go...let's get some people together, make some putts, and catch some fish...!

I am in for sandpiper anytime. It is a really nice course and a bit of a challenge to all levels of play...Last time i played there I shot a smooth 74............('course we only played 15 holes) before darkness chased us to our cars. The only downer of the course.....no clubhouse to hang out in after the round.......Somebody book it and I will be there!.....Ortho 8)

LoL...Here we go, getting stuck with the organization part again... ::) JK...Ok, so...

FIRST ANNUAL BCFR TOURNAMENT

Some Questions first...

  • Who's in?
  • Do you want to fish in the morning and then golf, or vise versa?
  • Anyone who does commit to this must commit 100%, as if I am going to reserve tee times, we should make sure our full group shows up...
  • Any other suggestions?

I was thinking golf first. Nice and early. I have done the fishing till 3pm then go do a round of golf after that, let me tell ya, by the tenth hole, I didn't really care to much about my score anymore, mainly because I couldn't hit anything straight. :-[ That makes for a real long exhausting day. ;D Besides, depending on what kind of fishing we do, to me, fishing is when we should be relaxing.

Which reminds me, what kind of fishing are we going to do? I was thinking perhaps some more Barfing, or fishing the vedder for Reds. Maybe even some relaxing(at least until you hook one) Sturgeon fishing.... :2cents:

Sounds like a really great idea ............ golf early .... sturgeon fish after. We could make up 4-somes and take scores & then Sturgy lengths to come up with a "total" for each group. Bought new clubs and I've only used them twice in the last 2 years. Trust me ..... I'm rusty to say the least so you have nothing to worry about but it should be a fun time.

I'd have to know in advance when it is ....... but I'd be in for sure and would take my boat for our 4-some. Would be nice to get a few boat fulls happening.

I could possibly be in.....might have to cancel though lol

I have clubs, but need to go pick up a 9 iron...as the driver, putter, chipper...don't always work :naughty:

I'm like a handicap 7 or at least I was :-[ might be a 9 or 10 now.....maybe 15.... :wallbash:

Not too far for me to travel to get there either ::)

Leaving this Sunday for North Dakota for a week ........ I know the Harrison is really high .... from what I've seen Kilby boat launch is under water (or was a couple of days ago). Wonder if any of the fairways at Sandpiper are affected???

Anyways, would be a neat day ...... hope I can make it when the final day is determined ...... sounds like fun.

Harrison still is reely high.....the launch is still submerged...the launch side of the parking lot is flooded still with 1-2 feet of water.....the golf course doesn't look too bad...one hole closest to the bridge was a little flooded...although thats all I could see from the river yesterday...no cutties pi$$es me off :pissed:
