I am planning on returning to Kitimat for the first week of September.
How has the coho fishing been in the last few weeks?
What flies should I be tying up?

Hey Tconcave I'm heading up there in maybe the first, maybe the third week in Septempber. Race you in my 9 ft?!? Kidding, but if you wanna float together give me a PM. By the way I talked to my Dad today (lives in Kitimat) and he says the coho aren't in in significant numbers and the river is low.

Probably another 3-4 weeks before they show up in the big numbers!

Right now the river is filled with mostly half dead chum.Usually Sept long weekend is great,caught our limit in no time last Sept long.There are the odd coho being caught but like Sparky said,no big numbers and the river is low.My buddy has been out everyday so will make a call and give a further update.

Hopefully I can get into some coho while I'm there.

Can you pontoon around the mouth of the kitimat and fly fish for the coho that are getting ready to run?
