Are the pinks in the river yet?

5967 Views 52 Replies 29 Participants Last post by  bigsnag
I will be heading to the Harrison next week to fish for Pinks. Has anyone been catching fish around there or am I going to be to early? If they are not that hi on the river yet where are they. Could some one give me a good report with information. In years past it seams like there were way more post with information about what was happening on the rivers. Am I missing something or in the wrong spot on the web site? ??? It just doesnt seem like anyone is out fishing. Any info would be great. Thanks for the help.

Havent been up there yet this year but I may try around Kilby next week just to wet the line! Let me know what you find if you get up there!

RR
I was doing a bit of scouting around up there this weekend and saw one fish surface, lots of socks washed up on the banks but no pinks spotted.

Fishthis, there is a reports section as always, but the way to access it has changed...if you read through the post titled, "A little bit about BCFR...", you will see what I am referring to...

Here's the link:

Pay particular attention to the part that reads:

There is a graduated system of great features available on BCFR.

  • Once you reach 10 posts, you will then have a whole new world of sections with fishing reports from all over the province, and even from around the world! You will be able to view daily updated fishing reports for Steelhead, Salmon, Trout, Sturgeon and many more species of fish on various lakes, rivers and streams!!!
  • At 50 posts, the 50 post club section will show up on your screen, and you will have access to Great Fishing Video’s with clips of anglers battling fish, techniques and much more. You will also have access and posting rights in sections with more great photo’s, “Current Hot Spots”, and even more on top of that!
Don't just read that part though, there's more there to know than that...

Please pm any of the mods if you have any questions...

Thx,

caught them at two bit bar. Two fish is great for me, haha. some of you guys probably get that in an hour.
Where does one find 2bit bar? I've never heard of that one.

Hey FISHTHIS,
Sounds like we will be up there at the same time...small workld huh...so do you fish from a boat or bank??? I hope that the pink fishing is as good as last years chum fishing it was off the hook. Did you fish late year? See you there.
Thanks
Brent
Hi Brent, my buddy and me take a small boat and move from spot to spot fishing mainly from different bars. A couple of years back we did do most fishing from the boat as thats what it took to fisn the fish. Do you know any hot spots up in the Harrison area?

Two bit bar is on the corner of 272nd and river road.
skunked here this morning. oh well maybe tomorrow.
We were out this morning as well - we saw very few rolling -not much activity at all in the water - we also came home skunked! I saw one guy catching pinks everyone else was just exercising their arms - lol.
2 bit bar was pretty slow this morning, the commercial boat just downstream with its net covering most of the river might have had something to do with it.
Was also at 2-Bit this morning - by 11am there were at least 20 rods out. Saw 2 caught in the 4 hours. Also watched a small boat with a sturgeon hookup nicely released. Moved up to Duncan Bar. Same story from the folks there - almost no takes, and no pinks splashing.
That Commercial Boat was probabily the Pacific Salmon Commission Test Fishery Boat. I don't think anyone else is permitted to fish.
