BARE Breathables ??

Any one familiar with these? Looking for the "best bang for the buck" and would love to support a local shop. I understand BARE has a distribution facility in Langley which makes warranty if needed very convenient. Any comments appreciated.

I had a few pairs of Blackwaters and also one of the original Cutthroats when they were first introduced. The biggest plus about the Blackwater is the way they fit...they are hand down the most comfortable pair of breathable waders I have ever put on. They go on like a comfortable pair of jeans. BUT...all of them were leakers, some very badly when they were pretty much new.

Personally, I just wear Gore-Tex. Gore-Tex has been the only membrane in waders that I have tried that have had any amount of reasonable service life, and they ACTUALLY BREATHE! :) They are also not as susceptible to solvents like DEET, which eats other membranes rather quickly.

The Simms L2 that was mentioned by another member in the other waders thread is probably one of the best bang for your buck out there, and it's Gore-Tex.
I give a  for the simms L2 . I bought them in August and they are so nice to wear. It does not even feel like you have waders on at all.
I will also give a  for the Simms L2. Gore-tex and Simms seems to have a size to fit anyone comfortably.
For a bit Cheaper you could get the Simms Freestones. They come in a crap load of sizes, have a nice 2 tone look to them, really good gravel guards and a very comfortable as well. I am very happy with mine. Besides, they look really expensive...
Simms, is going through some change up in the lineup for next season and alot of models are on clearance due to discontinued models or updated models.
I would stay away from starting price models from any companies, you are looking for trouble.

As far as bare goes, thier breathables are better now but they have lost most of thier market share due to thier earlier production and lost alot of faith with people. I would stay away from bare there are alot of companies that are are far better.
I HAD A PAIR OF BARE THAT WERE ONE OF THE LOWER END MODELS I BELIEVE, THEY LASTED ME ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AND THEN MEGA LEAKS ALL OVER. I SENT THEM IN FOR A WARRANTY REPAIR AND I GUESS THEY WERE TOO FAR GONE AS I WAS SENT A NEW PAIR OF THE NEWER MODEL ONES. THEY WILL NOW BE MY BACK UP PAIR AS I HAVE A NEW PAIR OF SIMMS THAT I LOVE. CAN'T COMMENT ON THE NEW BARES AS THEY HAVE NOT SEEN WATER. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS I JUST LOOKED UP AND SAW THEM AND I'M NOT RETYPING THIS TO GET RID OF THEM.
