Anyone else ever troll or still fish from a boat in the waters off belcarra. I am always surprised by some of the 'creature's i pull out of the depths. Last week, two sixteen inch flounders and a half a pound bull head. The week before, eight plump perch, a five inch greenling and a twenty pound giant pink sun star...

So i was just wondering, who has fished here-from a boat and what have you caught out there?

PS...all i ever use for bait there are worms...

I haven't really heard of much salmon action going on around there...but your report on big perch tickles me gills! I used to fish for those as a youth in Port Alberni. I would love to catch some of those beauts! I know the perch can grow quite large around our area! I have seen some huge ones near Hole in the Wall...how big are ya talking? Cheers! -Nathan in NW

ps. Try some fresh salmon roe on a tiny jighead, if you can get a hold of some! The only problem is you have to re-bait every few minutes!

The biggest perch i've caught there was seven inches, but usually 'big' is about four to five inches...caught a massive bullhead once-three pounder...

7 inch perch is huge to me! Cool! I've seen them in the 10-12 inch range as well. Tasty little guys!

Went fishing there today...caught an eight inch sole and a three inch perch...not the best of luck...
