I wonder if it was the same guy I saw buzzing around the entrance to False Creek before Morgan and I went out last Thursday. He seemed to be doing a bit of a "sea trial"....launced off a small flat trailer attached to a brown van if I recall?bigjay said:

Went out with Morgano first to the Bell. Lots of boat out for a Wednesday, like 20. Fished lines from 80ft to 20 with anchocies and hoochies, nothing but shakers. We didn't see anything caught but the boats were pretty spread out. Just before high slack we moved to the QB and fished in to the Pink Palice then down to the Cap. Jellies and nothing else... not even a flounder! Ran one line on the bottom around Ambleside just incase a early white was around. Went in at 7:00pm.
Oh, there was a crazy guy out there on a pontoon with an electric moter in the shipping lane with 4 knots of current. Thought he was a log as did the cruise ship that narrowly missed him - I know the crew ship was thought he has a log cause the cruirse ship did not sound it's horn. To Dumb to even try to tell him how dangeriou his situation was.

Sounds pretty slow out there. I think I might have contacted harbour patrol or the coast guard about that nut head. That is in the top 10 of stupid things I have heard/seen on the water.
