Im wondering what kind of rod/reel I should use with a downrigger. I have one installed on my little boat and plan on using it in Alouette Lake this summer but not sure whats a good rod/reel? I had an alright one before but snapped it in half a while ago so now its time to buy a new one. Not looking to spend a ridiculous amount of cash but nothing cheap either. I will be targeting mostly trout.
Thanks
Any suggestions?

you should pick up the fenwick hmxs86l-2 awesome rod. It is a fast action. I use it for trolling lakes for trout and chucking spoons and spinners for coho. Great rod about 150 retail.
