Well got there at just after 5am (first one there)
nothing doing for the first 30 min then fish on
then one guy joined me and then two guys and a girl went father down river
the Guy next to me says look a bear
sure enough this huge black bear strolls out from the bushes and heads toward the river just past the two guys and the girl
not sure if they seen it
i was trying to point it out to them
didnt want to shout
well it just waded into the river and started swimming for the beach on the other side but the current was taking him down stream then i lost sight of it

i got into about 12 fish on the fly
then just like yesterday it went dead arround 10.30am
seal was at it again came real close to me at one point

I had a baby seal calling it's mom for quiet awhile on Sat. morning...It came right up in front of me at one point...Made that weird sound again and startled the hell out of me...guess it's time to work out again...I think it was checking out my manboobs..

I agree here but then maybe you hit one of those days that it doesn't turn off. Maybe all those furry creek fish decide to move in.............maybe I better get out there again!

I think the earlier the better
how long will it take you to get there ???
you wont have to worry about the road closure as it is just week days 3-5 am
so first light would be a good time to get there

maybe i will see you and your lady out there sometime

Bear Spray, I wouldn't use that. It comes down to Commin sense!

I have see what spray does which is not much and if the wind is blowning back at you, your going to be eating it!

Now if it is the Grizzly that is hanging around hole new ball game, that is what the 12ga and slug, SSG Slug SGG is for!!!!

Oct and Nov I pack my lever action with me that way I can kill two birds with one stone. Fishing and hunting at the same time.

But one thing is there is a bunch of Grizzlies that have moved into the Squamish Valley, them things, I wouldnt want to run into. As a lady found out on the May long weekend up at mile 26 to when a Grizzly ripped open her tent and chased her to her car and started to damage it.

Where there is fish there are bears! We are in there space remember :peace:

Yes I have seen the short shot gun, I love the happy face on it!

HotRod, I herd that, this same bear was zapped by CO's and moved back up the valley and two days later it was back in the same spot!

It is good to see grizzlies back in the Upper Squamish............. But not when fishing!
