Bon Chovy Fishing Report Aug 21

Fishing has gotten even more exciting this week. Some extremely nice fish have rolled in over the last week!! Jeff picked up a 32 pounder as well as a 33 pounder yesterday morning of the T-10 marker. This morning he picked up a couple in the mid twenties as well. The fish have been hitting anchovies from 50-110 feet on the downriggers. Definately the best quality fishing we have seen this year. Other boats have been doing well too! The fish have been averaging between 18-35lbs. The test fishery in Juan de Fuca Straits have shown real good numbers of chinooks and pinks this week so there should be more fish on the way!

West Van is still producing fish as well. Coho, pinks, and chinook are being hit of the Pink Palace down to the Cap Mouth. Chovies and white hootchies have been the ticket.

The Gulf Islands have been really good as well. The Grande, Thrasher and Whalebone have all been solid.

It is looking like we should be in for a good spell of quality chinook fishing from now until mid October.

Call us to take advantage of the weather and the big fish. This week we have Wednesday the 22nd and Sunday the 26th open.
