Fishing for big chinook has been really consistent over the last week. We have hooked big chinook on every charter except for one over the past 10 days. The fish have been averaging between 20-35 pounds. The fish have been hitting anchovies and herring behind flashers. The fishery started in Mid August of the T-10. Over the last week we have seen fish being picked up off the Bell Buoy, Point Atkinson and the middle of the harbour. Productive depths have ranged from 60-120 on the rigger. Tide changes have proved the most productive. We are starting to hit more and more pinks off the Fraser as well.
West Van is still kicking out fish as well. There has been little pressure over there.
Fishing for the Fraser bound chinook should continue till the third week of September. Then the Capilano chinooks should roll in! Should be a good fall for big chinook! Call us for prime late September and early October dates!
