Bon Chovy Vancouver Saltwater Fishing Report July 8, 2007
Fishing off the West Vancouver shoreline has picked up this week. Some good numbers of coho have started to stack up with the warm dry weather. We managed to get into a handful of coho and a chinook or two on our last couple charters this week. With this continued warm and dry weather we should see more and more coho stage of the Capilano. We have been running white hootchies and anchovies for both the Chinooks and coho. The coho have been hitting between 20-40 feet and the chinook a little deeper between 60-90.
There has been a few nice fish showing up in Howe Sound of as of late. Fish in the 15-30 pound range have been hitting anchovies between 90-170 feet. Hole in the Wall is the place to be in July for the Squamish bound chinook.
The Gulf Islands have still been consistent for Chinooks in the 10-20 pound range. Thrasher Rock, the Grande and Whalebone have been the spots.
