Fishing has picked up over the last few days in the Vancouver area. The South Side of Bowen kicked out a decent number of fish over the last few days. The trouble was the Northwesterly winds which made getting out there a little interesting. It looks like the wind has mellowed out and should stay down for the next while. Tunstall and Hutt have produce some nice fish this week. There have been at least of handful of fish in twenty pound range caught this week. Real nice quality! The harbour is hit and miss with a lot of undersize chinook. We did get lucky yesterday in the harbour and picked up a 22 pound white spring of the Cap Mouth on the high slack.

We have been having our luck with anchovies, green glow and cop car coyotes. Successful depths are really scattered now. We have hit fish anywhere from 20-180 feet. The 22 pounder yesterday hit at 47 feet. Mid week we had our best results between 70 and 130 feet.

The Gulf Islands have continued to be very good for chinooks in the 10-20 pound range. We fished there last week and had most of our action on the South West side of Thrasher Rock.
