BON CHOVY FISHING REPORT, MAR 27/2007

Well after much anticipation, we have purchased our newer, bigger Grady White Gulfstream. Now we can accomadate up to 5 people in comfort. The Gulfstream is truly an awesome fishing boat. With a 9'3 beam she is extremely wide and stable. Our 4 stroke 9.9 trolling motor is smoke free and can dial our trolling speed to a tee. We have added a GPS plotter and a new fish finder to complete our electronics package. Should be a good season with the new boat!

To the fishing side of things! We have definately missed out on some quality fish over the last couple weeks. There have been numerous reports of fish in the high teens and twenties coming in. There was even one in the mid thirties caught up Howe Sound. There have been some decent fish hanging of the Cap Mouth as usual on the last few hours of the flood tide.
We have heard of a few legal fish in the Harbour along with moderate numbers of undersize.

April is the start of the fishery off the South end of Bowen Island. Fish congregate in the area til early June. This is typically one of the more exciting fisheries of the year as there is quite often some good quality fish to 20 pounds mixed in with the standard 10 pounders.

The Gulf Islands usually really heats up and gets going this month as well. We offer 8 and 10 hour trips over to Gabriola. There have been good reports coming from that way as well!

As we progress into spring, coyotes and hootchies behind flashers will still pick up fish. Anchovy quite often becomes the ticket as we progress into spring.

Call us to book a spring charter on the newer, bigger Grady!
