Going up to Barkerville this Friday for a week...I hope to flyfish Bowron Lake and River as well as Dragon Lake on the way home.....Any advice on flies or gear would be appreciated..We will be taking spinning rods and fly rods...
And the family will have earplugs for sleeping in the same trailer as me for a week..

Have fun up there, Steve.

For Dragon Lake, make sure you have a good collection of micro-leeches, dragonfly nymphs, as well as some caddis patterns in your boxes.

I fished Dragon last week in a thunder storm and the Tom Thumb on a troll was working. The fish are big (about 4 pounds) but didn't taste very good. I usually don't keep many fish but we were camping at Barkerville and needed dinner. Fish was muddy. Not sure if this is the norm or just due to the warm weather??

Dragon Lake fish are usually only decent eating around ice off. The water gets pretty warm in the summer.
