The ice bridge area  Not sure of exact kms on the Beaver FSR, maybe 82 but don't quote me. Check out Northern Troutfitters in PG. Those guys should know the exact kms. Let us know how you do.

With the very dry spring/early summer, river is low, so look for the deeper stuff. Ice Bridge and Haggen are good spots. I have caught them at Haggen on opening day almost every year.

Since we are finally getting some rain, river should go up a bit and they should be running hard, since they are all over in the Fraser right now (just leaving to go and see if I can get some!!!)

PS: LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO DRIFT THE BOWRON. I have pontoon boat and have drifted from ice bridge to highway. Some awesome spots along there.

Go east on Hwy 16, 50 km out is the Bowron river bridge, turn right after bridge and head south (upstream) on forestry road for around 15km. Just after the 80km marker sign turn right....you're there!!!! (You'll see where the traffic has been turning)

Take the trail there upstream (10 min walk) and your at the meathole.

The beaver rd just on the right past the bridge or the 80km marker on the bowron rd that is further past the bridge?
Thanks

Friday August 11th

Spent 4hrs at Haggen yesterday. Counted 15 go by in 4hrs. Not the slightest bit interested in anything that we through at them. Pretty dark and red. Looked like some pretty big fish though. Talked to someone at the icebridge, no luck there yesterday either. :(

Went out Friday night, landed 2 (15lbs & 22 lbs) and lost 2........
Lots of fish in there, but with the very low water, they are pretty spooked.
Lots of Sockeye coming up now too!

Went out again Saturday morning for a couple hours.........nothin! Saw lots of fish, but they have lock-jaw.

So far have landed 7 and lost about a dozen in 4 days of fishin...........evenings seem to be the most active.

Will try again tomorrow.

Hey Tacheeda,
I'm on afternoon shift this week, but have nothing planned for the upcoming weekend. Do you want to fish the bowron or are the springs going to be done by then? I think that some hunting should be open then too if you're up for it. But, I don't have a truck yet to carry the larger animals back. Bunnies will do just fine for me. :D Maybe I'll bring my bow!

If you want to drift the bowron i think that i would be up for trying it. Maybe you could give me some pointers. I need some experience drifting in the pontoon boat as I've never been out on the rivers with mine yet. Give me a PM if you're interested and maybe we can hook up and try it out. I need the experience so that I can drift the Morice this year.

Tacheeda,
where were you when I was in UNBC. I here stories of Chinook in the Bowron and tried that I would have loved to. My days were spent fishing Eena lake before work in the summer or Vivian for Brookies that would take any badly dropped fly. With Hart in the spring and fall to give me a good pull. Or weekends to the Morice.
Love reading your thread even though I am not there.
Thanks, Jason
