Probably heading out this weekend to fish for some Brookies. Never really targetted these fish, but am wondering if they are fished the same as rainbows? Are there any special considerations to use while trying to catch these guys? Not that I'll be targetting these, but the lake only has these in it.

Any help or tips would be much appreciated! Cheers!! :beerchug:

If you're flyfishing, just match the hatch just like you are fishing for rainbows. Brookies can be more aggressive and go after larger stuff than rainbows though...so don't be afraid to throw a large leech out there for them. I've had a small brook trout spit up a large salamander on my lap before...so they can go after big things relative to their size.

Fall can be prime time for Brookies, as well. A lake with only Brook trout? Nice! :thumbup:

Dpends on the lake but I've generally done well this time of year with chronomids, dark olive wooly buggers, and dark olive spratleys.
