Planning on taking the brotherinlaw out on his new boat to show him the ropes on fishing with downriggers this weekend. I've only been out in front of the cap and know it produces well at times. However, his boat is at Reed Point marina and I was wondering if there was any closer place we could drop the cannon balls down? Up the arm? Also any other techniques that could be tried other than downriggers? Thanks guys!

There might be the odd, odd, very odd feeder chinook up that way. You are better off burning a little more fuel and trying further out in the Strait. South side of Bowen, QA etc. Capilano/West Van should pick up in a couple/few weeks.
