Try calling the local shops or going to the auction. What size of boat are you looking for?

Thanks for the insult. Sure is nice to see crap sandwiches being served elsewhere besides the C&R thread.

Apparently not only did I ruffle your feathers, once again I have upset Prof. I asked two questions which seem pretty straightforward to me, in fact they could even be considered simple yes or no questions.

"Humor me, maybe I am slow on the uptake tonight.

One can purchase an 18 - 20 foot boat fromPacific Angler on West Broadway in Vancouver? It could be...simply purchase through the store and pick up else where?"

Chrome,

'Humor me' - from an online dictionary

1. Humor me - humor me To do something for someone, when it seems stupid, explain something, physically do something for specified person...etc..etc

2. 'Slow on the uptake' refers to a specific function of the brain responsible for thought process and decision making.

To be clear I was asking for clarification from you in both my posts on this thread. Your statement that items seem expensive at Pacific Angler was vague especially in the context of a boat as large as you indicate you desire. In fact all your posts in this thread are a bit vague and leave those trying to help you or learn from this thread challenged at best.

When Angler's West was open, from time to time there would be boats (mostly jet sleds) posted for sale on the white board that obviously were not in stock nor available on site. Seeing how Pacific Angler is a reincarnation of Angler's West it would not seem unreasonable to think that perhaps the same form of marketing or sales is occurring at Pacific Angler. Nor would it be unreasonable to assume that the prices may be considered expensive if this process was adding another 'middle man' looking to earn fair profit from the sale of said boat.

I am fairly disappointed you were unable to offer me the same courtesy and drop me a PM to ask if I was trying to be dick, to which I would have likely replied 'not at all, in fact I am curious about what you have written and hope to learn from your experience and in turn perhaps offer you the same from my experience. If that is how you have interpreted my posts lets start fresh, I will take them down and try a different approach.'

But instead I see your initial reaction, which is actually, written plain language, an attack on my ability to process information and there by I ask if this was your intent or a misinterpretation on my behalf.

"Sorry i don't understnad what is this humor me, I am slow on the uptake, are you just generally slow?"

I'll just give Jason a call tomorrow and ask if he is offering for sale boats that one would not normally expect to see available in a fly shop. Hopefully he doesn't treat me like yourself and Prof (in a PM), on the other hand maybe he will quickly judge, laugh and call me stupid. Probably not though, not in his character.

This is the PM I got from Prof - after your post asking if I am generally slow.

"I know that it can be frustrating when you read something posted from a member that makes little or no sense, but an ironic or sarcastic post back to them is often a waste of time, especially if the other party doesn't seem to clue into the subtleties you are using. Maybe be a bit more straight forward and you will likely get a better response. Thanks. "

At least he acknowledges that I was after a better response.

Interesting, I actually thought you were onto something, Chrome.

Now what I don't know so I will ask, Did Prof send you a PM discussing the potential confusion of this thread or your comments to me? If so, somewhat fair ball.

Last bit of irony in all this is my post on the thread regarding Railfish and Hotrod working things out, where I discuss and praise to an extreme how awesome it was to see them actually be curious about each other's posts, position and come a better understanding of each other.

PS.

Edit: to remove comments about a party not directly involved, it was unfair of me to do so. If any of you had read them I withdraw them wholeheartedly and addressed the issue in an appropriate venue.

Don't ever speak on this forum again now that is embarassing hahaha Lastcar good comedy, do you write stand up?
Not sure I understand can you please clarify?

Are you asking me to never speak on this forum again? If so, my answer is probably no. Although I will attempt to use more clarity in the future.

My intent was not humor,

Your last question, not anymore. The entertainment business is a lot of work and I enjoyed my time in the late nineties but let the dream go in lieu of another dream. Used to spend time with Brent Butt, now that man is funny.

If one is into cross border shopping for boats. The boys at the White Elephant have carried johns for years and offer some great prices. The brothers have recently divided the company and there is a Marine specific store now owned by the family but it is its own entity. I don't recall the name but a google search will turn it up.

Of course there is the issue of bringin a trailer across the border, which has been covered earlier on this forum. Probably just as well of taking one down with you.

On the other hand I have been into Cascade in Chilliwack and was pretty impressed with the service I got there, so if local is important to you then you have options at home also.

To each their own in these economic times...
