Hi guys. I'm heading to Campbell River today, and I plan to do a little fishing. I grew up there, so I know the area pretty well, but I haven't fished there lately, so I'm looking for suggestions. My plan is to haul my little boat up to Buttle Lake. I have had some good luck at creek mouths there at this time of year. Has anyone fished there lately? What about the river? Thanks.

I wish I knew you were coming up...I could have used the day off, LOL.

The tribs to Buttle are closed and Elk River is catch and release, fly only. A buddy of mine was up there this past weekend and did well on some chronies I tied for him :). Gold bead head, solid black dubbed body on 8/0 thread with a medium gold rib (size #10 or 12 hook). He was fishing it between 6-8 ft deep on a sinking tip (no indicator).

I thought the lake was stocked, but there's no info for it.

Good luck and let us know how you did.

Thanks Warrior. I don't think it is stocked, but there can be some good fishing for decent sized fish. I like fishing just out from the Elk River. I tried fishing in the stream once, but there was a stubborn bear that got in my way. I will be heading up for a longer fishing trip a little late in the month, and I will be sure and let you know when so you can get that day off.
