What are some of your things needed on your camping list before you head out for a weekend of fun?? The Roche trip has prompted me to make a list before I head up there today but I don't think it will make a difference as I always seem to for get something!! :wallbash: Tarps and rope are always good thinks to bring!!

Ok, here goes.

Tent, ground sheet for tent, tarp, rope, poles for tarp to build shelter, sleeping bag, air mattress/foam, extra blankets, towels, clothes, sandals or flip flops (for easy on/off to keep inside tent clean) plus bathroom stuff (toothbrush, shampoo, TP etc).

Camp stove, fuel, large non stick pot, non stick pan (easier to clean), spatula and other cooking utensils, CAN OPENER, canned foods, cooler full of food, plates and cutlery, paper towels, dish towel and soap, salt and pepper and other condiments (and condoms too!)

Extra lighter/matches, flashlight(s) with extra batteries, propane lantern, battery operated lantern for inside the tent, candles (Not a big fan) but bring one or too along, axe, sharpener for axe, knife and hammer (or ideally, combo axe/hammer). Two way radio if you're out with more than one person, extra batteries, and entertainment stuff. And fishing gear....

Don't forget FLOUR! I usual take a small ziploc full of flour with salt and pepper mixed in. A yummy coating for pan sized fish!

Have a good trip guys and gals!
I expect tons of pictures!

Cheers!

lol. it's my list. i happen to really enjoy cooking. often i'm in camp for a week or so, and bacon and eggs and hotdogs only go so far. i like to eat well.

all that gear fits in the back of my 94 toyota 4x4 mini-pickup, with the pontoon boat strapped on top and the trailered boat towed behind, obviously.

Don't forget the can opener and a corkscrew!!.........Ortho
are those not on there!?!? crap. must add.

as for the wife, kids and dog....well, i have none of those, so they don't need to be on the list.

i've reviewed the list saved on the computer here and noticed that i wrote "Based on a 2 week hunting/fishing/camping trip". that explains the amount of gear. and yes, it packs down quite nicely when done right.

oh it's great. i can go where i want, when i want. i can spend money where i want on what i want. i don't answer to anybody. i have no one but me to worry about and no one to worry about me except me female friends who are like sisters to me. but even they don't worry too much, they know i can take care of myself. i prefer fishing on my own anyways. :beerchug:

i wouldn't mind a dog, but at the moment i'd rather put the money towards fueling my truck for the next trip.
