Just learning to tie some flies and my next fly requires dubbing for the body which I have never tried. The instructions for the fly does not have pictures of dubbing and require the tier to prepare a dubbing loop. I have seen a quick video of a fly being tied with dubbing but it does not explain a dubbing loop?
Basically my idea of dubbing was spinning some dubbing material around the thread with your fingers and then wrapping the thread around the shank of the hook. If anyone can provide some other tips and techniques regarding dubbing that would be great. What's a dubbing loop, do you need wax to dub? etc...
