Went down to the capilano river this weekend and caught lots. Only caught chums, there hardly seems to be anything other than them in the lower portions of the river. I've fished upper sections but theres not much, seems there arent to many fish, except in the hatchery :D I was fishing a section of river with lots of chums and Cap Slayer informed me that you cant keep any chums. I was surprised seeing as how there is quite an abundance of them and how you catch the odd one that would be pretty good for smokin. I was surprised to hear this because the day before i saw a caucasian guy walk off with his son with a chum in a bag and a chinese guy leave with about a good 15 pound chum (caught out of brothers creek...shame on you :? ) Anyone know how much longer there will be chums in the system? Any reports of people catching springs and coho in the lower portions of the river i would love to hear about it, cuz thats the type of fish i want to target in the cap. :D

Capilano Mano,

Good to meet you today, I just couldn't stay away from my home river even though it is need of some rain. The high light of the day was another member on this board young lad that thought he was well KING you know what. He was all cocky and all with his gum boots on, don't ask why he would wear gum boots to when he stood in water higher then the boots  Not only that but he had some trouble walking in about a foot of water and thought he should have a bath before he got in dads SUV   Just before he was lighting off fire crackers  To when this members dad was watching him take a bath in smelly rotten chum walker instead of taking the easy way up the bank no he goes the hard way and falls on his butt and gets dirty again for his Dad

It was just nice to get out on the river with the nice weather today, was hoping a coho or two would move up but nothing.

Well I have no trouble in telling them to get lost, as soon as I saw them walking up, I was getting ready. If you or I went down below the green bridge they would be yelling there heads off to get off there land. So it was my turn to tell them to go back to the Res and get off white mans land if you are going to try and snag or use that huge dip net.

I wonder where young cocky boy is, I think his handle here is what Joekickass???? I have another name but will not say it on here. Gumboots and shorts hell I was getting cold with my gear on so I don't know how he was able to stand in the water for that amount of time.

Capilano Mano, yes it was nice to meet you these past two days, oh i will be back there, so any time you want to hook up just send me a PM I will get you into the Springs and Coho to when ever they show up

Its still really low, all we can do is pray for rain and then we'll be able to hook into some fresh fish. If your into fishing for chum, their in there in the lower portions of the river. If your really lucky there might be a coho or spring but its pretty unlikely if you ask me. Get out there and enjoy the river for what it is and ya never know, that nice fish your looking for could come along:D
