on the vedder today.....released one jack, 4 chum, a bright spring that had to weigh in at 50 lbs, what a monster, great battle, if it was a doe i would have considered it for the smoker and the ten lbs of roe that would have come with it....wierdest C&R of the day was a seagull....made about a 25 foot cast and he swooped through just before my gear hit the water....reeled him in screaming all the way......he was wrapped up pretty good and managed to take off into the air three times before i could cut my line and untangle him so he might eat out the eyeballs of a dead fish again.....he screamed at me again as he took off

has anyone heard of a missing dog(boxer) .....this guy(or gal) came out of the bush.....i was fishing the run well above tamahi, 10 to 12 minute walk past the top rapids, heard this grunt behind me and of course thought i was going to turn around to face a bear/////very nice looking boxer, no collar, scrounging for food.....when i hiked back down later in the day it was still hanging around, no one knew who it belonged to

water is fairly high but the real problem is the vis.....saw two very nice coho jump around 3:30....big, chrome.....but no takers

Good report Nocoho. Hope the dog finds it's owner before something finds it... :'( What were
you using on the end of your hook? Were you doing pocket water or seams...?
Inquiring minds want to know.... ;D

hit the jack on a colorado......everything else on peach & pink wool combo.....the two runs above tamahi are a bit high but fishable.......there is a nice slot about 75 feet long where i hit the chums and the spring was just above that run, wider deeper water.....lots of springs were showing late in the afternoon.....lots of very big fish but i think the coho were hiding from them as usual when they come through

Last time I was out on the Vedder I was watching my float go downstream and a gull came flying along and hit my line. Caught himself up in it as he kerplunked into the water and was screaming all the time.
He managed to release himself and fly off squacking.
Only time that I came close to catching that day.
