I will be fishing the cathedral lakes august 18-19. I've heard great things but my previous visit yielded only 3 small trout. Does anyone have any ideas, tips, lures etc that would help me catch a few more/bigger fish this time?

deer hair nymph or shrimp patterns. light spinning gear run the fly 3-4 feet behind a clear bobber and you should be good to go. If you're staying at the lodge you can use the boats which will increase your success on quiniscoe. that being said I've caught bucket loads off the dock.

Thanks for the help, I'm fairly new at this so let me make sure I understand...With a spinning setup you tie the fly to the end of the line and put the bobber about 3-4 feet up the line? Then you cast and reel in? No weights?
