was wanting to get up into the chehalis canyon to escape the crowds a bit but have heard dismal reports on the steel return this winter... anyone have any success out there??
Ive been through the canyon before... used to whitewater kayak through there all the time... I know kayaker turned fisherman???? you dont see that too often. Just wanted to know if their are any fish to justify making the trip.
IMO there are better waters at current time,i was only up there for about an hour casing the area out and taking a lazy day ride.i saw only 2 fishermen and both said nothing happening and this was later in the day...about 4pm
Yeh unless you only go to the first section up the canyon which is accessible without that much effort I would stay away from the rest of the canyon area with the snow we have had, at least until spring.
ya some of the hikes i have done into the canyon have just been terrible even in the fall with no rain the canyon can be very trecherous even in the best of conditions
