Fished around the Allison pools this morning.Did not touch or see any until I ran into the buddies at the bottom. The one buddy hit into two or three but they all came un-buttoned(unseen). Around noon I moved further down river to a little ways above the the slides and started casting to a bouldery run in the middle of the river. The float slams down on the second cast
as something grabs the two- colour double jensen egg/ peach wool combo, and after a couple of headshakes a chrome rocket with pink tinged sides launches out of the water!!
It stays in the main run, twisting and bucking .After a bit of tug-o-war around some boulders for a few minutes I work it in close enough to see it's a hatchery.Just as I slide it in a rocky pocket and pounce ,the leader breaks
at the hook!!!!! Fortunately I have it in a firm grip
and quickly grab it in the gill plate and hoist it out. It taped out at 32" x 17" and weighed in at a bit over 11# .
