Hi Guys,
My friend has a place on Chilliwack Lk. and I've never been there. We are going for a few days in the middle of Aug. What can you tell me about this lake. i.e What kind of fish? Troll or Fly? Is it deep, should I rig up a down-rigger? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes it is Deep. And you will have to go down for anything of decent size this time of year. Anything decent that I have seen or caught was at the far end near the stream inlets and on a gangtroll slow enough to get it down a ways or with downriggers. There are some really nice fish in there you just have to find where they are and how far down. You may luck out around shore spincasting for some smaller ones. Best bet would be deep with lures and Leafs etc.

hey matt,
i fished the lake about 10 times last year throughout the season and a few times this year and i found the best lures to be spinners and small spoons tipped with a few inches of dew worm. we usually ran anywhere from 10-40 feet down and got into some decent rainbows, cutthroats and dollies, mind you, a bit deeper for dollies. we had a few double headers trolling around the north east side of the lake. a downrigger is not necessary if you use a little weight and a swivel. i generally used a 2-4 foot leader before my lure.
all the best.
