Dear Friends:

As you may know, over the past few weeks the Cohen Commission has been holding public forums throughout British Columbia. This coming Monday, September 20th, the Commission is holding a forum in New Westminster. This will be the only public hearing held in the metro Vancouver area, and I strongly encourage anyone interested in this issue to attend.

We need to send a clear message that this is an important issue for all British Columbians.

These forums provide community members an opportunity to make presentations directly to the commission. Please consider whether you would be interested in making a presentation. This is an excellent opportunity to your voice heard, and I strongly encourage anyone with an interest in this issue to participate.

Details of the public forum are:

Time: 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Location: Inn at the Quay (Hyack Room North)
900 Quayside Drive
New Westminster, BC

For more information on making a presentation to the commission, or on how to get involved, check the website http://www.cohencommission.ca/en/PublicForums/

Sincerely,
Fin

The impetus for starting this Federal government initiated information gathering started when the Feds felt pressure from many stakeholder groups questioning the disappearance of 10 million sockeye from the Fraser last year.

Agreed, very interesting...seems as always that ocean variable take the largest piece of the pie, but interesting to see some support of A. Morton's and others findings on disease/parasites as well...

Now I guess we'll have to see what the Feds do with the final report they are given.
