I was driving down the coq. today from kelowna and saw some what looked like nice fly water on a couple road side creeks. Any info? 2 were creeks but one was a small river.
I have also wondered about some of the creeks along the coquihalla. There is one shortly (10-20min) after the toll booth on the right when driving up from Vancouver. Is this the one you are wondering about?
Also drove with my dad from Meritt to the Thompson alongside the Nicola River which also looks good to try. Any thoughts on this river?
Young gun - As you are travelling on the Coquihalla you will cross the river you are talking about 6 or seven times. Each bridge you cross it on has the name of the waterway on it: Coldwater River. It looks fishy, but is a very tough river to locate decent fish in.
I am not sure this is the stream he is referring to but if it is, it is a very sensitive salmon and steelhead spawning system and in my opinion should be left alone unless you can find trout without bothering the redds.
