For any of you out there hitting the fish that are trying to show up........definitely get a trap down in English Bay right now.
We cleaned up on the weekend in about 70' off water making a straight line off of second beach (pretty straight west heading out to the Strait) in Stanley Park. I nice load of chicken backs and necks and we had ourselves a whackload of keepers on both days. Oddly enough, the bulk of the undersize crabs (almost all of them) were females.
Watched a small commercial prawn guy pulling his string of traps on the Southeast side of Bowen........empty trap after empty trap......they didn't seem to be doing to hot out there.
Trolled around for awhile and didn't even get sniff out off Bowen.....so cruised into Seymour Landing....dropped anchors, rafted up and had a good afternoon in the sun.
On a quick side note.....they have nice stainless steel collapsible crab and prawn traps on sale at Army and Navy downtown.
