It aint much, but it was cheap (meaning it was all I could afford) but it's my first real boat beside the 12' aluminum Princecraft I have.

What type of boat is it? A lot of those older boats are built pretty solid for the waters up here.

Thanks for the welcoming Pippen! The boat is a 1978 18.5' K&C with merc 140 power. It aint pretty, hence the name I put on it. It had sat in a carport for a few years with the last oldtimer owner and I gave him 2k for it with the trailer. Needs a really good cleanup, but it seems pretty solid. Had it out a few times last fall and it runs good, but spotted a few minor problems. It's at the mechanics now and I'm helping him out and learning alot about outdrives. Pulled the motor yesterday, replaced the rear mounts, rear crank seal and pan gaskets, gimbal bearing, imput shaft, bellows, and impellor assembly. Today we'll get it all back together fill with new fluids, and I hope to get it out fishing this weekend.

GREAT west coast boat and built to stand tough.
I know the boats very well......friend of mine's Dad owned the factory they were built and out in Richmond and I have been out numerous times with the owner's son.tomcod1949 said:

Thanks for the Welcome Trav, I have a Merc 60 horse on the back with a 8 horse Honda Kicker. I'm thinking of re-powering but the motor is good all around, 34 MPH according to the GPS, 3 people and a lot of gear, can't complain I guess
