So I saw on a site that pinks eat krill. 1 inch long shrimp-like creatures. I saw a pattern on a site someone posted and looked at natural photos to see what they really look like...

Here are the results. I call it the Ill Krill. Whether or not it's accurate is another story...discuss

Let me know if this works...I'm a meathead and can never get this photo thing to work

Nice tie!! The only thing I would have done different would be to use smaller eyes, but other than that, it looks great. I'd tie them up in a "pinker" color as well (something darker) due to the varying colors in different areas of the same river. I think I was the one who posted the site you're referencing.

The clear/pearl color would also be good. Let's see that one as well.

Yeah the lead eyes are kinda big...the only ones I had. I've seen some photos of some with big spots there but I'm not sure if it's the species we have in our waters.

Pearl with fuscia shell back and silver rib...If I had an orange or red shell back it may be better. Krill have a hemoglobin-looking pigment to them I think.

I like your patterns more...I was debating on adding more legs around the thorax of the body as mine are completely absent.

I was thinking that my pattern was kinda a midway pattern between a handlebar and a krill.

meh, we'll see

The body on mine is sparkle braid. It wraps nicely. If you try these patterns may want to consider using a shellback and use a pink hackle under the thorax to give more legs/action. I also didn't put a tail on my pearl coloured one...so could be added. Might try those tonight. Leave for the oyster/campbell tomorrow morning!!
