Re: Vedder. February 3rd

Ditto on the nice weather, but it was with the wind blowing in the lower river. Using a 18 inch 6 pound test leader and peach and white wool, I fished the Canal at first light, then Borden and just up from Allison and had one brief hookup that I farmed while I was blowing on my reel hand to warm it up. :wallbash: The fellow at Limit who bags fish said he has caught only two fish this year so far compared to 20 last year this time. I wonder where they are holding, near the mouth?

Re: Vedder. February 3rd

I was out today with Wookie who shook hands with a big'un but lost the fight shortly into it :'( Next time you'll get one buddy :beerchug: Saw 3 hatchery taken and one HUGE wild one landed and released ( i have a pic of it also) also heard of 6 others. Seemed like a great day out there ;D only going to get better now that there is some rain coming this week to push in some fish.

I don't get it  ,WHY the weight argument AGAIN.The guy cought a nice big fish, the beauty of it is, the monster is swimming free out in the river again,a chance for someone else to hook into a trophy like this.
Nice photo "HOOK" and congrats on the fish who ever cought it,GOOD JOB.

Re: Vedder. February 3rd

I was there when it was caught, the thing was one of the biggest I've ever seen, quie a bit bigger than the 15 or so pounder that Wagonmaster caught the week before (and it was weighed).....

Made it out today hooked one on my pin setup and lost it, for the short period I had the fish on I can tell that fishing the pin is gonna be fun. Also I put on a show for a couple buddies by slipping on a hill and sliding into the river. Bumped into Bent Rod and talked for a while, nice meeting you today Rod, make sure to leave some fish for the rest of us.

God where do some of you go to learn how to weigh fish.....

SOME OF YOU ARE WAY OFF!!!!!!!

That thing looks to be about 16lbs at most, nice fish anyways
And the spirit of the great Crescan is reincarnated again on BCFR. ;D C'mon man you were not even there and for you to cast a shadow of a doubt is acomplishing nothing!

That;s a monster and I'm with you on the weight. Man look at the shoulders on that thing. A big fat fish!

Re: Vedder. February 3rd

Thats a beast, I was lucky enought to tail a 20+ wild for a guy 2 years ago! What an honour ;D With the water so low and clear what is the best method to get a hook up with a steely?
Do they start to hold in different types of water, does it change the way they act? How should I overal change my approach? Will be out there in the afternoon tomorrow.
